Everyone is familiar with Korean K-beauty sheet masks, but what about Japanese cosmetics, or J-beauty? Finland now offers LuLuLun, the top-selling mask brand in Japan! When I saw a preview of this release in early autumn, I was eager for it to become live because I was running out on masks. I'll tell you about LuLuLun, my favorite sheet mask brand, and what makes it unique in today's post—including their popular options like the lululun face mask precious green and other masks from the Precious line.
Review of LuLuLun Sheet Masks
When I was traveling (and later residing) in Japan in the early 2010s, I first came across the brand. Finland doesn't have pharmacies, and I had a great time at a Japanese pharmacy. Due to their immense popularity and widespread advertising, LuLuLun masks were easy to overlook. What, in my opinion, makes LuLuLun masks unique:
Comfort (fitting, non-slip)
Quality (excellent ingredients and moisture-retaining sheet)
Reduced waste (available in multipacks)
The sheet itself is made of a premium, incredibly soft cotton. To preserve as much moisture as possible, each mask is composed of three layers of sheets. I've worn these for more than 20 minutes without them drying out, even though the recommended wear period is 5 to 10 minutes. The serum is "just right" in terms of not dripping on your clothing—something especially noticeable in the lululun precious green face mask, which is known for its balanced formula. The masks fit my big face well and don't slide or slip while I wear them. I've made coffee, blow-dried my hair, and even performed squats while wearing one!
LuLuLun masks save a ton of plastic and packaging material because they come in bundles of 1, 7, or 32 (!) masks. I used to sheet mask virtually every day, but I felt horrible about how wasteful it was. With multipack sheet masks, such as the lululun mask precious line, LuLuLun revives the "daily self-care" experience! In the Asian beauty industry, multipacks are common, but I discovered that the majority of them felt inexpensive or that some of the masks felt drier as the liquid sank to the bottom of the pack. Despite being kept vertically, LuLuLun masks manage to retain moisture in an even manner.
How to Pick a Sheet Mask from LuLuLun
I've never seen a mask that I didn't like, and I truly appreciate the range of mask varieties or "flavors." Just pick one that appeals to you if the range intimidates you:
Balance: These, in my opinion, are intended for people with oily skin types who have breakouts or excess sebum. Fans who have tried them often mention their good experience in lululun balance mask review posts.
Moist: For regular to dry and dehydrated skin types.
Precious & +45: For individuals seeking elder care, especially popular options like lululun precious green, which has been praised in many lululun precious mask review blogs.
With the exception of the prefecture series, all LuLuLun masks are devoid of alcohol and perfume. Try a single-packed one first if you have really sensitive skin. For me, the multipacks—particularly the Japanese prefecture series—are the best. These masks have a very subtle aroma that hasn't affected my skin. These masks are a wonderful way to remember or experience Japan, which I really miss: Local customs and cuisine are highly valued by the Japanese. For instance, Hokkaido prefecture is well-known for its melons, and its eponymous mask, LuLuLun Hokkaido Melon, contains melon seed oil.
Although the contents differ from mask to mask, most of them have relaxing, hydrating, and moisturizing qualities. Glycerin, hydrolyzed collagen, squalene, ceramides, and a variety of plant and seed extracts, including those from kombu seaweed, perilla leaf, tara/carob fruit, etc.
