Do you know what I think is most harmful to my skin at this time of year, aside from the weather? It must be the heating system that some of us have, and by that I mean central heating, where there is always warm, dry air. Although I feel cozy and warm without needing to wear many layers, my skin will have to pay a little bit for the comfort, possibly becoming somewhat rough, scaly, and generally dry. It should come as no surprise that I'm always searching for a way to keep my skin hydrated and avoid itching or tightness.
I've been experimenting with products from Dr. G, a K-beauty company famous for its Dr G Red Blemish line. This time, I've been using the Dr G Red Blemish Clear Soothing Cream and the Red Blemish Clear Moisture Cream, and they've been amazing! You can learn everything there is to know about my prior encounter with Dr G Blemish Cream by clicking this link! Although the two creams sound similar, I've been using them both interchangeably and for slightly different purposes. As usual, there aren't really any rules when it comes to skincare and makeup—as long as they work for you!
Let's begin with the Clear Moisture Cream! This product, which is advertised as a calming and moisturizing cream designed to soothe sensitive skin, has been a twice-daily mainstay. Composed of madecassoside, madecassic acid, asiaticoside, asiatic acid, and centella asiatica extract, their 5-Cica Complex is used to moisturize sensitive skin. This has a somewhat bouncy gel texture that is meant to be swiftly absorbed by the skin, giving you moisturized skin that doesn't feel tacky or sticky. My skin has responded well to this, feeling smooth and moisturized instead of tight and uncomfortable this time of year.
Although I can use the Red Blemish Clear Soothing Cream on a regular basis, I probably prefer to use it when my skin needs some attention. The Dr G Red Blemish Soothing Cream helps reduce inflammation, promote wound healing, manage oil production, and moisturize the skin. It is formulated with a 10-Cica Complex, composed of ingredients including centella asiatica extract, niacinamide, green tea extract, and tea tree oil. When I sense a somewhat uncomfortable, inflamed area of skin (also known as eczema) trying to appear, I use it more frequently. I will also sometimes layer this over the Moisture Cream to provide an additional layer of protection.

These products are also excellent for other skin types, including mine, which is dry/normal. They were developed for acne-prone skin to help calm irritation and address imperfections. Each of them comes in a jar with a screw cover that holds 70 milliliters of product. A spatula is included in the container, making it a nice compromise for anyone who would rather use a tool to scoop the cream instead of dipping fingers inside. If you're exploring Dr G Red Blemish Cream formulas, these two are truly worth considering. Which would you choose?
